REFIGURING URBANITY

Tuesday 17th November. SALA A, Facultad de Derecho, UNED

What does “urbanity” mean today? New ways for working, home making, buying and selling, occupying streets and neighborhoods, using technology, conceiving cosmopolitanism, ethnic identity, heritage and beauty seem to defy well-established ideas in our previous common sense. This international workshop focuses on contemporary practices and trends which are silently reworking contemporary city life. Ethnographies from Paris, London and Madrid will be discussed to stimulate our ethnographic imagination.
