Creature from BOO! will host 2022 Halfway to Halloween Dance-Off on May 21 – The Observer

the Creature from BOO! will host its third edition Halfway to Halloween Ball, Powered by Monster Energy Drink, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21 at Spanish Plaza.

Featuring participants from many of New Orleans’ best-known dance groups, the free outdoor event will feature celebrity judges, live DJ music, giveaways and family entertainment.

“The Halfway to Halloween Ball allows the public to see many of the area’s dance and marching groups perform together, and we think it’s a great event to get a taste of creativity and a sense of fun and community who is part of every troop,” said Brian Kern, head spookster for the Krewe of BOO! founder of the parade and the event.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event.

All activities will take place at Spanish Plaza, 2 Canal St., at The Riverwalk in the Arts District of New Orleans.

The Dance-Off was designed by Kern, whose goal is to make New Orleans a “top destination on planet Earth for Halloween.”

Creature from BOO! to add a new event in June

The Krewe of BOO! will also host the Axeman Inaugural Ball on Saturday, June 4 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Republic NOLA, 828 S. Peters St.

The Jazz Age-themed event will feature a live performance by Naughty Professor. Participants are encouraged to wear Prohibition Era style costumes.

Founded in 2007, Krewe de BOO! 2022 will include the Royal Luncheon and Second Line to Pat O’Brien’s for the Krewe of Boo’s Cocktail Happy Hour on Friday October 21, and a Zombie Run morning, the Krewe of Boo! parade and a Monster Mash After Party on Saturday, October 22.
